As short range models are starting to come into range, a coastal storm is looking more and more likely. Timing on the event would be after midnight early Monday morning through roughly mid-day Monday. It's a fast mover, so impacts won't be too rough around here. However, I am watching the potential for ice with the onset of this storm. It's one of many options on the table right now. Keep in mind, it "might" be warm enough for it to start as plain rain. But again, as always, I'm keeping my eye on it. Below I'm going to show you a few images to give you an idea of what I'm looking at. These images are from the latest NAM model.

The first image below is stamped 1:00am Monday morning as the storm starts to move into the area. As you can see in Eastern PA, there's a red region. This is red because it's ICE...

The next image below shows the green moving further North through PA. ICE would still be possible around 4:00AM, but chances for plain rain are increasing as temps warm up...

This final radar image shows all plain rain across the Schuylkill County area. It's time stamped at 7:00AM Monday morning. Temps would be warm enough to support plain rain at this point for everyone...

I'm going to show you some temperature images below. The first one shows a 31 in the center of the image. This would be the current temp for Hazleton at 1:00AM Monday. Again, freezing rain/ice would be supported if this model was correct..

This final temp image shows you a 34 for Hazleton around 7:00AM Monday morning. Again, temps would be warm enough to support PLAIN RAIN by this point....

The image below shows you potential ice accumulations across Eastern Pennsylvania. For Schuylkill County, anywhere from a trace to 0.1" is possible. Plenty of time for this to wobble around before I make a final call. However, I just want you to be aware of the ice potential before daybreak Monday morning....
