Do you like thunderstorms? Lots of thunder? Lightning? Friday is your day! However, these storms have the potential to get nasty. Again, it's just a potential. It's not set in stone for everyone to see a severe storm. The mountains typically play a huge role in minimizing the strength of our storms. With that said, I'm going to tell you a few things to watch out for below:

1. Hail
2. Damaging winds
3. Isolated tornadoes

The tornado threat is minimal, but it can't be ruled out. Damaging straight line winds are more likely than a tornado at this point. Hail, yes, hail is looking possible. All ingredients are coming together for an atmosphere that can drop hail. So if you get a severe thunderstorm warning issued, watch out for the details about hail. Small hail is something we don't need to worry about. Our area can handle it since it's not damaging. Once we start getting bigger hail such as quarters, golf balls, etc. then it's time to take necessary steps to cover up car windows. Again, this is not going to be for EVERYONE!! I can't stress that enough. Hell, this may not even happen exactly in Schuylkill County. It may happen in Luzerne or Berks or maybe even Dauphin? I have no idea where this is going to set up. I don't know who's house will see big storms and who's house will see minimal storms. I'm just here to stress that the POTENTIAL is on the table and you should listen to any alerts you may get on your cellular devices Friday. Please share to spread the word! Thanks!
