Rain coming earlier; lasting Saturday to Friday!!!

Rainfall over the next 48 hours will total 1-3" across the area. This is thanks to a coastal storm moving up the East Coast. Rain showers will kick off anywhere from 11-2pm in the Schuylkill County area SATURDAY. These showers will turn into a steadier rain after 8pm and will continue through the night. Rain tapers off early Sunday morning (before 8am).

There will be a DRY PERIOD until roughly 2-4pm Sunday. Then scattered showers will be with us on and off through the evening and overnight hours before tapering off Monday morning. This second batch of moisture will NOT be heavy. It will just be showery and more of a nuisance than anything. Hopefully there will be a little dry period as we approach the Summit Hill Fireworks Sunday night!!

The scattered showers I mentioned on Sunday will continue Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and into Friday next week. Batches of rain Monday through Friday will be heavy AT TIMES. We "should" start clearing out by next Friday afternoon to Partly Sunny skies.

The latest GFS (pictured below) shows TOTAL RAINFALL expected SATURDAY through FRIDAY of next week. That's impressive! If we get 5-7" of rain, flooding may end up being an issue. Click image to view larger....
